Splinter
The multiverse is in chaos, dimensions are crashing together creating gate through which anything can step, its up to you to reorganize it. Most of the time these gates are tiny, no bigger than an atom, but occasionally bigger things step through. This is shatter the 28mm wargame, in which anything can happen
All right how do we organize this chaos?
Well there are always categories in the models you collect, for example you will always find humans, so they have the same baseline stats. But a very important thing to remember is that you can have a mixed force, so a force containing Orcs and Humans is perfectly acceptable (but it’s a good idea to come up with a reason for your opponent). The game has a points system, you can chose a force and their equipment that equals but not exceeds the points cost, for example a human costs 2 points with no weapons, machine guns have a cost of 3, so a human with a machine gun costs 5 points. Simple, but that’s not all, you can add additional weapons and abilities to create the warrior you want
The rules
All right, now the really important bit, how to play the game. Splinter use a D6 or six sided dice to determine every part of the game, from who goes first, to weather or not you pride and joy fighter get killed. So it’s very important to have a supply handy. Also every thing is measured in Inches but due to the range of some guns it’s a good idea to have a tape measure.
Role-offs are a simple and effective way of working things out, the player’s involved role a d6, and the highest wins, however if the players role the same then the role-off is replayed. The first time in a battle a role-off is used is when deciding who goes first, the two players role-off and whoever has the highest goes first in setting up and takes the first turn. At times you may be needed to do a characteristic test. This usually involves rolling 2D6 and trying to get under the characteristics number.
And the most important rule is this, have fun. There is no point play this or any other game without enjoying yourself, but if you not having a good game, because say your losing, don’t take it out on the other players, because if your not enjoying yourself, it does not mean you have to make your opponents game miserable.
It’s also a very, very good idea to have a referee, and to perhaps standardize the weapons and units so that it’s fair.
if you notice anything that needs clarification or rectifying, just post a comment with your problem
